People’s Independent republic of Bolder

I was listening to “AM 760, Boulder’s Progressive Talk” on the drive home from the gym. I was switching between “850 KOA” and “630 KHOW” which are conservative stations in town.
This progressive station had a Psychologist on that believed that the Federal government should provide anti-depressant drugs to him because he has gone through a break down because Bush was re-elected last week.

The station had several people slam the loser for being baby and such. This guy said that he wanted to move to Canada because Bush will destroy the country. What ever his beliefs are they are his and that is fine. What ever!

The real problem IS that he believes that he is entitled to Drugs paid for by the Federal Government because it is the government that is making him mad. I think that I am seeing this with lots of the Arrogant Liberals that I know. While they tell me that I have no feelings for my fellow Americans they are wrong. I believe that we should provide support for people to get back on there feet when they encounter the bad things in life. The non-profit WK Kellogg Foundation helps people to help themselves through community development, educational, and social initiatives. This is a great plan. The best thing we can do for each other is to help them learn and become self reliant.

I do not know how successful they or the people they help are, but to me the direction is to help people that are in need. This is help them to be able to take care of them selves again. Not to support them like children. Some if only the loudest people on the left are screaming for government to define there and our lives. That is what I am fighting against. I do not want the government to define what job I do or how I do it. The Government is to define rules of engagement so that one person or group does not trample on the rights of another.

Lets stop the hate and figure out the differences in our goals and we will see that we are trying to get to the same place, only down different roads…

Don’t pursue happiness; pursue excellence
