Attention to Orders!

2Slick has ordered you to go to his site and read this post… It is a good read and 2Slick is on top of it again.

If you are (or were) an officer in the United States Military, you are hereby required to read this article by former embed James Lacey (thanks to Diamond Jack for the tip). Mr. Lacey is admonishing us. Seriously, look at this:

OK I messed with his link on my quote but he has lots of comments that are required reading.

Was that a shameless plug? Okay, yeah, that was a shameless plug. But I’m just making the point that I completely agree with Mr. Lacey. We need to do better. But hey- I’m milblogging, so my conscience is clear like the stuff that Jason Giambi puts under his tongue. How about the rest of you? (don’t answer if you happen to be Blackfive, Smash, or Froggy)

Everyone needs to bring the facts to life. The Good as well as the Bad and Some times the Ugly.

Do the Marines care about the Navy game… you bet…Go Mids

Great Bumper Stickers

A couple months ago I saw a bumper sticker on a built up Jeep. I then had to call a friend and tell him what it said.
A couple weeks later we both has a new sticker on our vehicles. In the year I have had this sticker I have had several people flip me off, yell at me, and one person try to run me off the road.
Good thing I drive a large Dodge diesel truck and that leftest liberal was in a brand new new Subaru. I have also had many laughs and “W” signs form others.

The simple bumper sticker goes like this…

Annoy a liberal….work hard and be happy

I love that it is working….

Quis custodict custodies ipsos

Quis custodict custodies ipsos……who will guard the guards themselves?
Marcus Tullius Cicero

Col Francis X. Bergmeister, USMCR(Ret) reviewed a tough book THE VIRTUE OF WAR: Reclaiming the Classic Christian Traditions East and West that brings many issues to light that Christians need to gain some familiarity with. That there is a diffarence in the views of war between Christians and Muslims.

Islam is a religion, according to the authors, that was conceived and born in violence. The result is that Orthodox Christians and the West exist in a state of perpetual peril. Christianity has struggled internally with the lesser evil of organized warfare for a good cause, or as way of being responsible citizens of a nation-state. A trajectory of tradition from St. Ambrose, St. Augustine, St. Thomas, and Calvin in the Christian West and the Eastern Orthodox justifiable war thought constitutes a process that illuminates internal reconciliation. Ecumenical debates to steel Christians for war are not then new. Nor is the subject closed for further discussion.

There are many issues in this book that cover current issues that I feel many familiarity are struggling with. The fact that at least two theologians have put a stake in the ground and I believe that that stack is in the right place. We as Christians will always have to have an internal struggle with the issues of war, Not having war can be even worse in some cases. Lets not become victims in with world we live in, as well as lets not victimize those that disagree with us.
