Returning Fallujans will face clampdown

The Boston Globe has an Article with some quotes form Lt Col Dave Bellon from the Green Side.

“You have to say, ‘Here are the rules,’ and you are firm and fair. That radiates stability,” said Lieutenant Colonel Dave Bellon, intelligence officer for the First Regimental Combat Team, the Marine regiment that took the western half of Fallujah during the US assault and expects to be based downtown for some time.

Bellon asserted that previous attempts to win trust from Iraqis suspicious of US intentions had telegraphed weakness by asking, ” ‘What are your needs? What are your emotional needs?’ All this Oprah [stuff],” he said. “They want to figure out who the dominant tribe is and say, ‘I’m with you.’ We need to be the benevolent, dominant tribe.

Facts are so much easier to deal with than emotions.

What is America Doing to protect our Service Members

SPC Wilson asked Sectary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld about why they do not have the armored protection on the vehicles they are using today in Iraq. This questions was noted was planted by a reporter. While this question has merit the focus on the issues raised by this question and the assumption that the military is not doing what it should or could is just so MSM bull shit.
2Slick has some great information on this topic.

I logged well over 1,500 miles driving around Iraq, and I never even saw an “armored” humvee. I didn’t complain- mostly because I was well aware that my father never had any armored humvees in Vietnam, and my grandfather certainly didn’t have any armored humvees during WWII.

It is a sad fact that the focus is on this and not on what our great Solders, Sailors, Airmen, Guardsmen, and Marines are doing there. It would be very nice to have every vehicle protected by the best possible solution that America can provide. The facts of life is that even the most heavily armored vehicles (Tanks) have vulnerabilities. Even the aircraft flying at high altitudes are at risk. If the Military is ignoring the ability to armor then that would be a story. But…. That is not the case.

Why does the MSM focus in a condescending way on the end results that they expect. Do they not see there own shortcomings.
Why does the MSM hate our Military so much? What can we do to change this (short of shooting them)
Tonight on CSPAN there was a lot of questions from reporters about why every vehicle in Iraq is not armored. The fact that there is a plan and that they are on plan shoes that the Military is working on the issue. It will not be fixed over night. The Press should not let the Military not do what it can to protect our Americans. But they should also GET REAL!

Ski Train

Tonight I had a meeting for hosts of the Ski Train I am a host again this year. Third year running.

The Train runs from downtown Denver to Winter Park on Weekends and also on Wednesday.
There are some really cool people working the train. I am hosting at least three trips so far and will probably host more than that.
It is the best way to ski if you are traveling from out of town. I have some friends from Boston that fly in stay at a hotel in Downtown (Lodo) and take The train to Winter Park/Mary Jane. It is the best kept secret in Colorado. Weekend hotel rates in Denver are low and the train is the best way to get to the mountains.

If you want to ski in Colorado call Julie and mention me.
