Bravo Romeo Delta has some comments on Blog growth

It is an interesting article that BRD links to by Pew Internet & American Life Project

Of course BRD slams the MSM just for fun with the fact from the article:

I find it intensely interesting that the number of readers grew 18% faster than the number of authors. I imagine that there are more than a few of the MSM outlets that would be quite happy to have such increases in circulation.

go read all of BRD’s post.

It is a wild web we weave.

First Post on the Tsunami

Of the many that are doing a far better job than I could on the crisis caused by the Tsunami I like the diplomad because 1) he is there 2) he has some important insights. 3) he is not a part of the UN.

The Washington Times has this quote form the UNHumanitarianAffairs Egeland.

But U.N. Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland suggested that the United States and other Western nations were being “stingy” with relief funds, saying there would be more available if taxes were raised.

This is a typical “the Government is the solution” mentality. To bad he is blind and stupid and UN-Humanitarian in nature.

In the Diplomad’s latest post he states

In this part of the tsunami-wrecked Far Abroad, the UN is still nowhere to be seen where it counts, i.e., feeding and helping victims.

This does not supprrise anyone in America which is why we are not supporting the ‘UNcredibles’

From the Diplomad also this quote.

Let’s start with the last citation, the one from the UN. I can tell you, dear readers, that I am temporarily working in one of the countries that got slammed hard by the tsunami and while the UN effort might be in high gear, it must have its parking brake on. No sign of that effort here! Lots of bureaucrats flying in and out, but that’s about it.

and this:

One more note about the USA. The amounts listed in the newspapers as donated by the USA greatly underestimate the true size of the donation we make. We are moving huge numbers of aircraft, ships, and personnel to help out. We have carriers and even a MEU on the move. And guess what? We don’t charge the UN for that, and we don’t include those enormous costs in any “pledging conferences.” The only countries I see delivering goods and services where I am are the Aussies (who are terrific!) and us. The EU is only to be seen in press releases.

God be with the people that have been tragically impacted in this crisis.

Happy New Year y’all

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the new year.
I was busy snowmobiling over the long weekend and did not find any internet access.
Could you leave your computer for four days and continue to feel normal?
I wonder if bloging is an addictive activity. I am starting to think so.
Sounds like a good research project grant request.

Anyway, I wanted to say Happy New Year.
Hope you are yours live long and prosper in the new year….
