U.S. Politics - Topics - U.S. Facing Debt Time Bomb

We are soooooo fucked

With President-elect Barack Obama and congressional Democrats considering a massive spending package aimed at pulling the nation out of recession, the national debt is projected to jump by as much as $2 trillion this year, an unprecedented increase that could test the world’s appetite for financing U.S. government spending.

I am wondering if we are worse off than the results of the FAILED Jimmy Carter failure as president that almost destroyed America.  The media will blame Bush for the crisis while ignoring the facts about the congress holding the purse strings. ( I do blame him for not vetoing the damn bills).

There’s a time bomb in there somewhere,” Crandall said, “but we don’t know exactly where on the calendar it’s planted.”

It will all come around and hit us in the head. Russia and China will get decapitated first with the melt down.

Congress is not planning to raise taxes or cut spending to cover the cost of those programs, because economists say doing so would further slow economic activity. That means the government has to borrow the money.

It will take us years to dig out of the mess, why don’t they learn to stop digging? How do we find someone that can get the GOP to step away from the check book?

Always The ONE, All the Time

The Press falls all over itself over “The ONE’

We read in The Washington Post that Barack offered to buy his reportorial flock sugary shaved ices, too, but they giggled and demurred; just being near him was sweet enough.
Ever since MSNBC’s Chris Matthews uttered his “thrill up my leg” comments during coverage of the Obama campaign last February, his intemperate, on-air ejaculation has set the standard for male journalist man-crushes. Last week’s articles in The Washington Post and New York Times transcended that, however, when working reporters eulogized Obama’s workout-sculpted, “sun-kissed pectorals.”

While only the Bush Derangement Syndrome came out for The Bush Administration.

I never had to worry about Dubya wooing away the press’s objectivity; it was implicit, from day one — Jan. 20, 2001 — when Bush’s inaugural parade featured attenuated coverage of Pennsylvania Avenue’s processional protesters, turned backs, angry signs, and unsuccessfully muted insults.
There was no effort by the national media to soft-pedal that strident message, nor did anyone think it amiss when the networks cut away to cover, endlessly, Bill’s banana-republic departure from Andrews Air Force Base — complete with epaulette-shouldered military band, endless speeches and a sobbing Janet Reno.
Every Bush embarrassment was delighted in, from the eggs and tomatoes hurled at the inaugural motorcade (amidst signs of “Hail to the Thief!”) to Jenna’s “wardrobe malfunction” on the inaugural dance floor, to excited giggles about the missing “W” keys on White House word processors.

This is a reason I hope all the press goes broke. Unless the Democraps provide a bailout to them also, and I am sure “The ONE’ will sing that bill.

Stricter security plan angers private jets operators in U.S. - International Herald Tribune

The Beaurocrats in Washington found a way to create jobs. They want these to be in the private sector doing the job demanded by the government (Not producing anything for anyone.)  They will be Security screeners for people getting on private airplanes. we will have to take our shoes off and get scanned for burning shoes..

One of the biggest convenience’s of private aviation is the speed with which passengers can get on the plane and off the ground.

But that may be about to change in the United States. The Department of Homeland Security is proposing to extend to private aviation many of the security rules imposed on commercial airlines. Those include requiring fingerprint-based background checks on pilots, checking passenger names against a government watch list and restricting what items may be carried onto the airplane.

The proposal could affect 10,000 previously exempt air operators, including not only wealthy businessmen like Microsoft’s co-founder, Paul Allen, who owns a Boeing 757, but also fractional jet ownership companies and even some recreational fliers.

The proposal to extend the jurisdiction of the Transportation Security Administration to include private jets has angered many. Organizations representing private airplane owners have complained so vigorously that the Transportation Department has extended the comment period for the proposal and scheduled a series of public meetings. The first will be held Tuesday at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York, one of the busiest in the United States for private and corporate aviation.

“Businesses have airplanes in order to transport what they produce, sometimes because it’s too difficult or impossible to carry onto an airliner,” said Ed Bolen, president of the 8,000-member National Business Aviation Association. “Tool companies that can’t take their own products, sporting goods companies that can’t take their own products on to their own airplanes, that doesn’t make sense.”

What I really want to know is who is going to pay for this? I see a new tax coming on Jet Fuel and AvGas and it will be very large.

I guess I need to figure out a way to become a Airplane operator auditor contracting to the DOHS and get some of that $196 million.

The last paragraph reminds me of the classic phrase, If it would save just one life, wouldn’t it be worth it? Like all of the other times this phrase is used the answer is NO.

One Per Month Would Reduce Crime and Gun Violence

When will the idiots learn the reality that restricting gun sales to law abiding people will not make them safer. then only outlaws will have guns.  I know, I know, the Brady campaign really wants there to be no guns in the world…

N.J. Fight On Straw Gun Buys Heats Up Limiting Handgun Purchases To One Per Month Would Reduce Crime and Gun Violence

Gun Guys : Where Everyone’s a Straight Shooter! (NOT)

These idiots only want to outlaw guns but they will never open their eyes and see they will never get rid of the things people use to kill other people, if all guns are gone it will be bows and arrows, then swords, then butter knifes…where will it end?

DRUDGE FLASH 2009®: NBC BANS COULTER FOR LIFE; CUT FROM ‘TODAY’ SHOW OVER BOOK’S CLAIMS

NBC is the official worshiper of ‘The ONE’

We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now,” a TODAY insider reveals. “It’s such a downer. It’s just not the time, and it’s not what our audience wants, either.”

Corps moves to replace M249 - Marine Corps News, news from Iraq - Marine Corps Times

All have major US based manufacturing but FN and H&K are global companies (which really means they are headquartered outside of the US) while doing sales and manufacturing in the US.  Both struggle with the make a gun safe mentality of the EU mind set.

The Corps has awarded four contracts to three companies to produce prototypes of the 5.56mm Infantry Automatic Rifle, which is slated to supplant the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, or SAW, according a Dec. 26 Marine Corps Systems Command announcement.

The three firms will compete for a contract that could be worth up to $27 million. The firm selected will manufacture between 4,476 and 6,500 rifles.

The three companies are:

• FN Herstal of Herstal, Belgium.

• Heckler and Koch Defense of Ashburn, Va.

• Colt Defense of West Hartford, Conn.

Colt received two contracts because it has two candidate weapons sufficiently different to warrant separate evaluations, according to SysCom.

Insight into the Palestinians minds.

I have heard many times that children show what they are taught. What these children are taught should scare the shit out of you.

This is what Jimmy ‘peanut brains’ Carter supports. These people don’t want peace.

They don’t want a better life, they are a cult of death!

Hat tip to Kender for the link.

Continental Flight 1404

The preliminary report details show a high (although within demonstrated abilities of the Aircraft) winds.

This is preliminary information, subject to change, and may contain errors. Any errors in this report will be corrected when the final report has been completed.

On December 20, 2008, at 1818 mountain standard time, Continental flight 1404, a Boeing 737-500 (registration N18611), equipped with CFM56-3B1 engines, departed the left side of runway 34R during takeoff from Denver International Airport (DEN). The scheduled, domestic passenger flight, operated under the provisions of Title 14 CFR Part 121, was enroute to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston, Texas. There were 37 injuries among the passengers and crew, and no fatalities. The airplane was substantially damaged and experienced post-crash fire. The weather observation in effect nearest the time of the accident was reported to be winds at 290 and 24 knots with gusts to 32 knots, visibility of 10 miles, a few clouds at 4000 feet and scattered clouds at 10,000 feet. The temperature was reported as -4 degrees Celsius.

Many pilots and mechanics I know are talking like there was something else that contributed to this accident.  No one wants their signature on the maintenance logs for that one.

Crazy facts to start the new year

Ok, Greybeard at PitchPull admitted he was wrong, I admit I just didn’t know….(his post gave me insight before I saw the NASA site. But my Physiological training showed a lot about the human body and performance in low pressure atmospheres.  I am glad my Professional Pilot BS degree is good for something.

The Question was:

How would the unprotected human body react to the vacuum of outer space?

The Answer is long but worth reading. I like this to the point part.

You do not explode and your blood does not boil because of the containing effect of your skin and circulatory system. You do not instantly freeze because, although the space environment is typically very cold, heat does not transfer away from a body quickly. Loss of consciousness occurs only after the body has depleted the supply of oxygen in the blood. If your skin is exposed to direct sunlight without any protection from its intense ultraviolet radiation, you can get a very bad sunburn.

Bye bye Tom

Davidowitz expects retail bankruptcies to differ from those of the past, where stores filed under Chapter 11 and reorganized.

“In the new world they’ll file Chapter 11 and liquidate,” he said.

Two Bit Whore

Cynthia Mckinney is a two bit whore working for the destruction of Israel.

In the name of peace she wants to supply medical supplied to the Hamas that are sending missiles into Israel on a daily basis. If the puppet master Iran can’t provide medical supplies to the puppets in Hamas with the rockets they are detrimentally sending into Israel, then to bad. Iran should ship medical supplies instead of missiles.

And the left wing run Military.com plays into the hand of the anti war media.

LARNACA, Cyprus - Israeli naval vessels reportedly have rammed a Gaza-bound boat carrying doctors, medical supplies and international peace activists — among them former U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney.

Loser

McKinney, who unsuccessfully ran this year for the U.S. presidency on the Green Party ticket, said she will petition U.S. President-elect Barack Obama to speak out against the Israeli attacks on Gaza.

What about speaking out against the mooslim puppets called Hamas? what about speaking out against the random rockets shot into Israel?  What about speaking out against the backers of this non-state group that has a goal of removing the state of Israel from the planet?

I read the military.com site to gather leftist views of the Hate America First groups. outside of that, it is a waist of a site….
