My new boss is my old boss
Mar 10th 2005MichaelGeek Stuff
Friday will be the completion of my first week (short as it is) and I already have an interview set up. I am hiring a couple people so I started looking what positions are really out there now days. There are so many open positions available that it really shows how the economy is really doing. Companies are starting to spend money again because it has been several years and they starting to leverage and extend current capabilities.
Companies are not yet trying to fill open positions with just warm bodies, but they are hiring. The point is people with (leadership) skills are really in demand. I have been talking to many old and a couple prospective new clients about outsourcing to us (American company in America), and they are not able to find the skills that can help lead them in the best direction. The skill they are looking for is leadership. Technical skills are OK and are a good start but leadership and attention to detail. Project management skills are OK but it is leadership, integrity, commitment that will win the job hunt.
I’m loving my new/old job and the fact that I get to lead sections of one company and help so many other companies in solving business solutions with technical applications.
Life is good.

Michael you sound so much happier in a matter of a few days. You really do, I can tell just by the way you write. I like it when you’re happy. Shine on.

Oh and most of us are sick to death of trying to get help with computer problems and anything/everything else- via some tech person over in freeckin INDIA or wherever…we want American help. Tell your boss that.

It isn’t small enough for me-the world. I want to travel everywhere and see everything. But yeah life is good.
