Murdoc remembers
Yes, I do remember that
Remember how Indonesia wanted U.S. forces to end disaster aid work by March 26?
Free Frank Warner notes that two US Navy ships have been dispatched to assist in the aftermath of the latest earthquake in Indonesia at the request of Jakarta. The request came on the 28th.

The Emperor Misha says It’d Be Sad If It Wasn’t So Hysterically Funny
You shouldn’t cheat yourselves of reading LC Nick’s shredding, which is impressive on more than one level. The ClueBatting itself is nice, but the fact that it was even done is even more impressive, because His Rottieness have to admit that he was too busy trying not to die laughing after the troll’s first paragraph, asserting that the left-leaning of academia is due to the “fact” that, the more one reads and learns, the more one must by necessity become a shrieking socialist shitweasel.
That links to Response To A Comment by Nick at Conservative Dialysis
I received a comment to my earlier post entitled From The Department of Duh! I felt that it should be responded to in public, not to embarrass anyone, but because a lot of people think the way this guy does.
Well nick really emarrassed the hell out of someone.
Gore Launches TV Channel for Young Viewers (AP)
AP - Al Gore has a plan for luring the Internet generation back to television: make it more participatory by having viewers contribute their own video.
Is this because he created the internet?
Gore, who narrowly lost the 2000 presidential election to George W. Bush, has publicly complained about the number of conservative voices dominating the airwaves.
Because he was trying to cheat like always.
Yet he insisted that Current will have no political agenda.
Is he honost Abe? NOT
“We have no intention of being a Democratic channel, a liberal channel or the TV version of Air America,” Gore said, referring to the fledgling liberal radio network. “It is not in any way an ideological, much less partisan point of view in any respect. It will have the point of view of the young generation.”
Somehow I don’t believe any of them. I don’t know about you but this might be a good reason to start using a different search engine and email service like yahoo. Maybe like yahoo..
Yahoo..
Launched in 1994, Yahoo is the web’s oldest “directory,” a place where human editors organize web sites into categories. However, in October 2002, Yahoo made a giant shift to crawler-based listings for its main results. These came from Google until February 2004. Now, Yahoo uses its own search technology. Learn more in this recent review from our SearchDay newsletter, which also provides some updated submission details.
Maybe time to look at going back to yahoo messenger also…
Border Patrol Complains About Volunteers (AP)
AP - Volunteers who have converged on the Mexican border to watch for illegal immigrants are disrupting U.S. Border Patrol operations by unwittingly tripping sensors that alert agents to possible intruders, an agency spokesman complained Monday.
Jim Coniglio of Tucson, who plans to patrol with other volunteers this week, said residents in some areas of the border have complained of being “overrun routinely” by migrants. “They’re feeling insecure,” he said.
The Border Patrol opposes the operation. “The possibility for something going drastically wrong is very high,” Maheda said.
I bet you didn’t know the AP would say something like this.
Great roundup of Office add-ins
Rick Scott is the Reviews Editor for The Office Letter and, as such, sees
a lot of tools for extending Microsoft Office. He has written a
roundup of some of his picks for the best tools
to extend what Office can do for you for PC World Magazine and it’s a great resource. Among Rick’s choices are a few of
my all-time favorites including:
I have been playing with these add ons and really like what I see so far..

Rebirth of the nation-state, an end to pan-arabism
The new Iraqi speaker, Hajm al-Hassani, made this statement:
“I am an Iraqi before I am a Sunni.”
In my opinion, pan-arabism laid the basic framework that has allowed pan-Islamism. Ethnic identity was replaced with religious requirements. Everything was framed against the other, Palestinians were used as pawns for the “Arab cause,” and nations (and subsequently religious groups) failed to be held accountable for their own domestic problems.
Perhaps, and let’s be hopeful, that this is a new beginning.

Globalization, as defined by rich people like us, is a very nice thing… you are talking about the Internet, you are talking about cell phones, you are talking about computers. This doesn’t affect two-thirds of the people of the world.

I agree 100%
Here’s something I got from today’s Chuck Muth’s News & Views and I agree 100% with the author’s statement:
BURY SOCIAL SECURITY
“Put me clearly on the record: I don’t want to ‘reform’ Social
Security or ‘rescue’ it or ‘adjust it to the new realities of the 21st century.’
No, I want to hit it in the head with a shovel and bury it in a New Jersey
landfill. It is time to kill the rotten, lousy, ‘rip off your kids to keep
granny in bingo cards’ Ponzi scheme that we call Social Security, but would be
more accurately described as ‘the government taking money from poor,
hard-working young families and giving just enough of it to retirees to keep
them broke, too.’ I, along with nearly every American younger than 40,
understand what no politician will admit: From an economic standpoint, Social
Security sucks.”- Columnist Michael Graham
Now all we need to do is convince Congress that this is the right thing to do now before it becomes a problem. Now, how can we shut down the AARP without much of a fight?
