Murder
May 11th 2005MichaelQuote of the Day
It’s frightening how easy it is to commit murder in America. Just a drink too much. I can see myself doing it. In England, one feels all the social restraints holding one back. But here, anything can happen.
W. H. Auden
There has been to much murder in the last couple weeks and months.
I am disgusted by the American people that watch the news of it like entertainment.
This is what happens when we remove the notion of right and wrong.
The people that do wrong need to be punished. They can not be reformed.
They can be forgiven but that is all.
Forgives does not remove the debit.

Too many kids being killed…esp. little girls. I called my Senators’ offices and told them how I feel about current law and punishment issues when it comes to kid killers. Too many people have no idea of right and wrong, and they often don’t care when they do.
Something’s gotta change.

A nation that refuses to tolerate crime won’t have many criminals. The problem is not in our sense of justice (e.g., individual rights and presumptions about innocense), it is in the punishment for crime. Prison should be a place where NO ONE ever wants to go back to (as in Japan), rather than a place to transform oneself into a hard body, engage in same sex dating, and watch TV in an airconditioned or warmly heated atmosphere. You might be able to rehabilitate a thief, but not a murderer of children.

Raven’s 2nd attempt to drop by with a comment. Michael sent me on a goose chase all over yonder trying to find the first one. But find it I did.
Pedophiles don’t usually change. They get out of their luxury prison suites and commit worse crimes. And who wants to see them rehabilitated? Not me. I want them dead. Not as a deterrent to others, but as punishment for what they did…to a little child.

Damn Right! Tony Blair said, years ago after the brutal attack with gasoline and a match on two kids, that [paraphrasing here] “It is high time to tolerate less and punish more!”

A long time ago, out in upstate NY, a man sexually abused a two year old girl. Then he put her into her mother’s oven and locked it shut and went to work. He turned that oven on…the girl burned to death and it took all day.
He got convicted of the crime, even admitted to doing it. A couple years ago he got out of prison…on his good behavior. Within a year he raped and killed another very young girl-she was 6. He’s dead now because someone shot him before his trial began. He should have been shot right after he the killed that baby.
