Happiness
May 17th 2005MichaelQuote of the Day
To find out what one is fitted to do, and to secure an opportunity to do it, is the key to happiness.
John Dewey
Although this goes against my main principle “Don’t pursue happiness; pursue excellence”, would work be considered work then? I think not.
I like that idea.

Life is too short not to at least try to be happy..and excellent.
Being happy with anything-work, life or whatever…gives you reason to want to be excellent at it (work, life or whatever). When you’re not happy, there is no motivation to be excellent.

Yep. I agree completely. On the other side, you know it’s time to move on (from a job) when it becomes “work.”

Yeah Fate…before I worked in nursing I was at a factory. Loved it for awhile and loved the people, the parties, the fun. But it just wasn’t enough. I wasn’t helping others. So it became WORK. And I gradually didn’t like it anymore, stopped having fun there and became a miserable bitch. Knew it was time to MOVE on. And I did.

Yep. I was miserable years ago in the job I’m doing now but hung around to go to school. First part of school is finally over (transferring in the Fall) and now I can finally leave! YEE-HAW!

That sucks..being stuck in a job one hates. Been there too. Funny how so many of us have to stick it out when we are going to school. I had to stay at the factory for a year while going for the nursing stuff. I HATED it-that job.
When I quit, I partied HARD that night.
what a relief it was.
