Napolitano says she’s in charge while away?

Don’t let a little Constitution stand in your way.

Yes, says Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano. She expects to take all the powers of her office with her when she heads to Russia on Sunday for a two-week trip, even though the Arizona Constitution says the secretary of state takes control while the governor’s gone.

No, says Republican Secretary of State Jan Brewer, an increasingly outspoken rival of the governor. Under the law, Brewer asserts, she will clearly be the acting governor for the next two weeks, whether Napolitano likes it or not. advertisement

The liberals are whining already, even when they know they are wrong.

Democratic Sen. Bill Brotherton says Brewer is correct that she is the acting governor while Napolitano is gone “with the emphasis on acting in that title.” He agreed with Davis that Napolitano quickly would be on a plane heading back to Arizona “if any shenanigans erupted.”

Lets ruin her vacation, eh.

But

Brewer says she wouldn’t use her role as acting governor “playfully.”

Republican Secretary of State Jan Brewer is a class act.
