I’m Not Shocked

I’m not shocked by this. I have a hard time believing anyone is. The Islamafreakoid suicide bombers of last week’s London fame are British Nationals. Of course they were young Muslim men, with a mission I’m sure they plotted and planned out for months ahead of time. Maybe even years. Was anyone watching their movements? Did anyone suspect anything?

LONDON — At least three of the four suspected homicide bombers who carried out the deadly attacks on London’s transit system last week were born in England, and all four men came from Leeds in the English Midlands, according to British media.

British media also reported Wednesday that authorities were hunting a fifth man as a suspect in connection with the blasts last Thursday, which claimed at least 52 lives on three subway trains and on a bus in central London.

Scotland Yard was unable to confirm the report.

According to British media reports, three of the four are described as British nationals of Pakistani origin, all of whom lived in and around Leeds ,which is heavily populated with lower- and lower-middle-class blue-collar workers.

That’s IT!! The pukes were from a Blue Collar lower class neighborhood. It’s why they did it.

Tanweer’s uncle, Bashir Ahmed, said his nephew had gone to Pakistan earlier this year to study religion, and that the family believed he was attending “some religious function” on the day of the bombings.

“It was total shock, I mean, it’s unbelievable,” Ahmed told reporters.

“Our lives have been shattered. It’s impossible to describe it. We have had a very pleasant time here. I don’t think we can continue here.”

Yeah I don’t buy this for one minute. I would be checking out this uncle. And his ties to Islam, Mosques, other well known Islamafreakoids who live and plot in London.

In London, Prime Minister Tony Blair met with British Muslim lawmakers and pledged to open dialogue to tackle a “perverted and poisonous misinterpretation” of Islam. He also said his government would begin consultations on new anti-terrorism legislation.

Addressing the House of Commons, Blair said the government also would look urgently at how to strengthen the process for excluding from the United Kingdom those who incite hatred and make it easier to deport such people.

I think they might want to get a little tougher with this. But it’s a good start. Tony Blair is heading in the right direction. It’s only a matter of time before this happens in America. Almost everyone agrees it will hit the East Coast too-Boston, New York, Washington. Unless we start taking seriously the war on terror.

Turtle Bay Blues

The folks at the UN appear to be up in arms about the latest news from Turtle Bay. Where is Diplomad when we need him?? I would love to hear some of the bickering that we all know is going on behind the scenes.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday firmly rejected a resolution by Brazil, Germany, Japan and India to expand the 15-member U.N. Security Council by 10 seats and warned the U.S. Senate could veto the measure.

“We will work with you to achieve enlargement of the Security Council, but only in the right way and at the right time,” said Tahir-Kheli, adviser to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. “We urge you, therefore, to oppose this resolution and, should it come to a vote, to vote against it.”

Brazil, Germany, Japan and India have introduced a resolution to add six permanent seats to the council, four for themselves and two for Africa, and four nonpermanent seats.

The UN cannot keep it’s current structure in place. The entire enitity is useless and corrupt. Why would anyone want to make it more “powerful” or bigger?

Germany’s U.N. ambassador, Guenter Pleuger, said the five Security Council powers would have a hard time opposing a resolution if 128 General Assembly members approve it.

“Do one or two permanent members really want to block the development and a change for the better of the whole U.N. organization? Do they want to be seen in worldwide public opinion as those who deny the developing countries representation in the council on an equal footing as permanent members?” Pleuger asked.

Ah, yes Mr. Pleuger. Naturally you would say such things. How would these so called changes make the UN better? Tell me, I want to know. And it’s my opinion that developing nations have no equal standing with the permanent members, and mostly with the US. When these nations get bigger, and can prove a desire and ability to contribute to the free world, than my opinion will change. It is about power. The most powerful states in this world are free states. The US is the most powerful. We work hard for what we have. We fight wars when no other nation will do so. We give up the blood of our own men for the free and not free world. And we have passionate people who do give to causes they deem worthy.

“Some of those who oppose enlarging the council to 25 did not oppose the enlargement of NATO and would certainly contradict the notion that the NATO Council of 26 has become less effective since then,” Pleuger said. “In the U.N., as in all democratic parliaments, decisions are taken by vote and the minority agrees to accept the result.”

Exactly.

I’m not sure the UN has the best interest of the free world in it’s “heart” anymore. The UN’s inactions over the past three decades has caused many deaths (Rwanda anyone?). The UN’s lack of integrity was part of the problem with Iraq, which went as far as it did (Oil-for-Food Scandal anyone? 17 SC resolutions not upheld anyone?) The UN is seeking a new world order, wants to tax everyone who works (with a rate based upon it’s “host” nations GNP, Americans will get screwed). No thanks. I don’t want to see the world as it would become if the UN gets it’s way.

I’ve said it before and will repeat it. The United Nations isn’t good at anything except dividing nations.
