Freepers are in the mix

Aaron Smith has a post on the SoCal anti-illegal immigration town hall forum

Here is a small sample.

I spent most of the evening standing next to a giant of a man who told me that as a Democrat, he’d spent his youth protesting Vietnam and was usually on the other side of the police line. However, illegal immigration (and its depression of construction wages) made this Democrat see red. Take the hint, President Bush. Dropping the “guest worker” plan is good policy and better politics.

I visited him and he has some good points there. Like why the hell isn’t Mexico doing something to keep it’s citizens happy and content so they don’t al run up here. Thats a good writer there.

True, Raven. If the United States wants to help Mexico, it should be actively involved with assisting in anti-corruption investigations in that country and, generally, assisting in the development of better governance.

Also, have you heard about these morons that travel into the dessert and leave water for illegals crossing into California and New Mexico? I heard they’re under the banner of not-for-profits but shouldn’t that be illegal?

Thanks for the support. As I responded to Raven on my site, this is a situation that even the slavemasters of the 19th century would envy: a Third World labor force that won’t complain and whose upkeep is subsidized by the government.
