These are some horrofic pictures of brave men in harms way.
Under fire and without a weapon, Gunnery Sgt. Ryan P. Shane, with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment (Regimental Combat Team 7), runs to a downed Marine to pull him to safety during combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq, on Nov. 9, the morning after Marines entered the city during Operation Al Fajr.
This is why you always respect the Gunny.

They’re all heros. To go back into the line of fire like that…never leaving their own behind. I’m proud of them.
