RINO Alert!
We know it is a bad thing when The Honorable Dianne Feinstein agrees with a Republican. but this is a RINO amendment.
Mrs. FEINSTEIN: Mr. President, I rise in support of Senate Amendment 1977, introduced by my colleague Senator McCain.
This amendment would bring much-needed clarity to the rules governing how Americans treat captured prisoners and detainees.
It will make clear that the Geneva Conventions apply to all people held in the custody of the Department of Defense.
It provides a workable definition of “cruel and inhumane,” based on the rules which govern how we treat criminals in the United States, and based firmly in the Constitutional prohibitions of cruel and unusual punishment.
Most importantly, it sets rules that are clear, simple and in accord with basic American values.

It’s time once again for Congress to fund the Defense Department with a FY 2006 Defense Appropriations Bill. The $440 billion military spending bill, known as: H.R. 2863, was recently amended by none other than Arizona Senator John McCain. The Amendment, SA 1977 was submitted on 10/3/2005. The stated purpose of SA 1977 was related to persons under the detention, custody or control of the United States Government and McCain’s amendment, if you can believe it, extends to foreign spies, terrorists, and Islamic jihadists the same rights U.S. citizens enjoy under the Constitution.
On the face of it, what’s wrong with that? More than you can imagine! Amendment SA 1977 is specifically intended to restrict United States intelligence gathering efforts and intimidate those in charge of prisoner interrogations.
I say I would rather Nuke Mecca and KILL all terrorists before one more American dies! why does John (RINO) McCaint wants to make the people that really want to KILL us comfortable?

McCain sucks. I don’t understand how these peace lovong, pacifier sucking potatoe head liberals and RINO’s can hold these opinions. Guess they just don’t have an understanding of history and the threats the world faces.
Sitting around, singing peace songs and smoking pipes and fondling doves won’t stop the evil…but taking away the powers to lock up and detain those who would just as soon kill McCain and me and you, will just encourage more evil.
I agree..Nuke Mecca and Medina and every other Muslim city and special site before more Americans die in a terrorist attack is worth it.
