Name that Dog

My dog needs a name!

Last night at a charity event, my really cool neighbors bought me a 8 week old Golden Retriever in an auction. He is a beautiful papered puppy. They really shouldn’t have, no really.
So now comes that hard part of getting a new pet.
What do I call him? I thought about going with some standard dog names or really getting a cool name but I couldn’t htink of any so I figured I would ask for help with this (just this once)
Here are a list of the names that I have crossed off my list so far

  1. Dog
  2. Cat
  3. Jill
  4. Buddy
  5. Sue
  6. Max
  7. Taz (although Taz 2 might work, kinda like terminator 2)

He is sitting on the couch next to me farting as I write this…darn dawg

To help out I have a couple pictures I took today.

then I was trying to figure out how I could get some really good names and what to do to give whoever came up with the winning name. So I figured out that if you leave a name in the comment section I and if your choice is already there it will count as a vote. The name with the most votes wins.

Scratch that, this is not a democracy, I get to pick the winner but you can still give me some great names to choose from.

Please leave names in the comment section.

To the winner I will donate $100 to the animal rescue or shelter of your choice.

So much for any of my spare time (as if I had any before…
He really is a cool dawg. and he eats, sleeps and poops…a lot!

How about “Andy?” Named after a wonderful canine Marine:

And along the same lines, but much more obvious… Chesty (for the Marine mascot bulldog).

    Btw, he’s adorable!

Given the name of your blog, and your vocation, one would think a flight related name would work,a nd I have seen Wilbur and Orville mentioned in the emails we exchange.

One could go with flight in mythology, and Icarus springs to mind as a great name, but with horrid images best left far from any pilots life.

I propose naming that cute little yellow furbag after one of the true innovators of flight in history, a man so far ahead of his time that his genious was labeled blasphemous, and only centuries after his death was he recognized as one of the brightest minds of all time.

    Call him Da Vinci.

    Or Leo for short.

    I like Kender’s suggestion and GM’s…
LOL Leo? Wilbur? Oliver? That would be cool.

I waited so long before naming Taz cause I needed to see his personality. The name fit perfect cause he is such as SPAZ TAZ
    LOL.
    So many choices.

Ogre at #4 almost has it right. The choice has to be Stinker.

“S’alot”… short for Sir Fartsalot. Has a knightly ring to it! heheheh….

If not, go with Ogre’s pick…

First of all Mike, you name that dog Stinky & you will have hell to pay when you come home for Christmas, you’ll face my rath. Give me a clue of the pedigree (name of daddy & mommy dog) (for those uninformed about doggie language. I might give you a clue for a name but need the parentage. I have a few ideas but taint sharing.

I think you need to name him Rusty because he will
    only get darker with age.

“Blaze” - in cover for “Blase” - (seems too worldly to pay any attention to the camera)- everything seems “blase” to this golden puppy-mut! Blase for “Bored” - - Back to “Blaze”
