Grand Lake Snowmobiling

Sorry for the absence, I was in Grand Lake Colorado Snowmobiling here. The map doesn’t talk about Little Chicken or even Supper Chicken. Little Chicken is a hill that is about 300 feet and very steep. in the 80’s very few sleds could make it over the top and it took a lot of skill or luck to get it done. these days most stock sleds can make it over unless the rider doesn’t know what he/she is doing. We saw three sleds over the week roll down end over end because someone didn’t know when to turn around before stopping on the hill.

Then Supper Chicken (also know as Gravel Mountain) has two very tall hills each being about 500 feet and very steep. the top hill is where people high mark but don’t go over because it is the very top of a mountain and the west side of the mountain is wind swept and very little snow stays there.

I brought my puppy and he loved the snow and other than digging into the trash a couple times he was wonderful. I will be back to regular blogging depending on workload (which is pretty heavy right now) but will get some focus on the 2006 elections and some of the major issues.

Thanks for the people that visited while I was away.

Thank you Raven for putting some posts that the brought people over.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I wish everyone a safe Prosperous New Year.

UpDate: This is a sad event: Two men killed in avalanche

Sounds like a really awesome area to sled at. Reading about them trails- 300 miles of them- makes me want to come out and have a ride or 500. LOL I don’t think I would do well with these chickens. I’de be the one tipping upside down and then rolling back. (sounds like fun actually)
Good to have you back cowboy.
