In other words, amnesty

Ahh someone tells it like it IS.
As to immigration, Mehlman just regurgitated the Bush party line: Americans, he said, “overwhelmingly” want a mechanism that will permit the 11 million illegal aliens who are already here to stay here and “do the jobs Americans won’t do.” In other words, amnesty. More bullhooey and, in this case, outright lies. Every reputable poll that asks if we should expel illegal aliens finds large majorities of Americans who say yes, we should. His further characterization of these 11 million illegal aliens as a “market problem” (more demand for low-wage labor than supply) betrays a basic ignorance of the market mechanism itself. The market doesn’t guarantee low wage labor. It guarantees that wages will rise until sufficient labor is attracted into the market. Further, the contention that these are jobs that Americans won’t do has been demonstrated all over the blogosphere to be more hogwash. And Mehlman knows it. The forces driving Bush are two-fold: a political goal of garnering the illegal alien vote, and a payoff to the corporate America that finances the Republican party - and his campaigns.
I wonder what President Bush will have to say Monday night. I’ve read reports about the Pentagon sending troops to the border…Is this being done to appease those of us who are mighty upset about this issue??

I read a Los Angeles Times opinion letter written by Gabrielle Hufferd, of Fullerton, California. Not surprisingly, she, the obvious left, documented her fervent belief that she and other leftists are intellectually superior to the right.
Hufferd’s attack against was against Michelle Dallacroce and her group, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens. Michelle simply pointed out that entry into the country is nothing less than a foreign invasion. She asserted that entrenched politicians have perpetuated a permanent servant class for the benefit of the cheap labor crowd. Further, that this is nothing less than a criminal conspiracy against the United States.
Michelle also asserted that empathy and compassion is proper for any Illegal Alien who entered the country simply looking for a better life. However, empathy, compassion and deportation with aggressive enforcement must be mandatory.
The left has a mistaken belief that permitting persons to live on the fringes of society is compassionate; I think not. Since Illegal Aliens are criminals by definition, they often cannot participate fully in all that this great county has to offer, including, the ability to earn a market wage, safe working conditions and full redress of all grievances whether private or public.
Moreover, as any rationale adult knows, compassion often includes making the tough decisions and choices that not only protect the individuals directly involved but also protect the bigger picture, i.e., societal interests, which include, the Rule of Law.
Open borders, amnesty or providing a pathway to citizenship only encourages more illegal entry and is unacceptable in any form. Enforcement of our laws against all persons and businesses involved in the Illegal Alien process is the only true answer. If we do not enforce our immigration laws the servant class of Illegal Aliens are a class of persons that I believed was outlawed with the 13th Amendment, and no one should bear a Badge of Slavery.
Thus, we, as Americans, must be compassionate but resolute in our opposition to the government’s failure to protect our borders. We must demand enforcement of our laws and the immediate cessation of governmental facilitation and participate in the continued of the invasion.
