Churchill’s Bosses Recommend Firing the Bastard

Will Ward Churchill run for the hills finally? Or will he become a pain in the ass, lawsuit filing, feather sucking freak like so many of his liberal friends? His bosses have recommended he be fired today.
The interim chancellor of the University of Colorado at Boulder announced today that CU wants to fire ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill.
“Today I issued to Professor Churchill a notice of intent to dismiss him from his faculty position here at the University of Colorado,” said Phil DiStefano at a press conference.
Churchill has 10 days to appeal.
I’m fairly sure the Teepee-want-a-bee will chose to take legal action. Those who do wrong tend to use our legal system to justify their actions. Depending upon the venue he may still get to keep his job. Isn’t that sweet?
“A university is a marketplace of ideas, a place where controversy is no stranger…indeed one of our most cherished principals is academic freedom, the right to pursue and disseminate knowledge without threat of sanction,” said DiStefano. “But with freedom comes responsibility.”
Indeed. When you speak of hate and make accusations against your government it’s free speech. But when you document this via essays and writings taught to college kids, it becomes something else. And when you make up “facts” it is a lie. When you copy the writing of others, it’s plagarism. Churchill has been found guilty of all this.
“I applaud the chancellor’s decision to proceed with the dismissal of Ward Churchill,” Owens said. “If a university is a marketplace of ideas, then Mr. Churchill is the rotten fruit among hundreds of good apples. Hopefully, we can soon say good riddance to Ward Churchill once and for all.
Every citizen of CO should be saying this. Churchill has been a dark cloud over that state for the past several years.
In a secret ballot, six committee members recommended dismissal and three recommended suspension without pay. Two of the three recommended a five-year suspension and one a two-year suspension.
So every member recommended some sort of disciplinary action.
Churchill and his attorney have threatened to sue CU if he is fired. They accuse the university of retaliating against the tenured professor because of his essay saying some World Trade Center terrorism victims were not innocent and comparing them to a Nazi bureaucrat.
Yep…typical liberal threats and promises. The right to appeal. I wish I had these rights if I were to lose my job. Course I would never do those things Churchill has done.
Remember what he has done too: Rocky Mountain News has an excellent archive of all the reports, invesitgations, charges and such: The Churchill Files.
Michael and I have followed this case for a yr and a half now; it’s still hasn’t been resolved but it’s heading in the right direction. I can only hope Churchill accepts this without a lost fight, but knowing how Churchill thinks, I doubt that will happen. He loves attention and thrives on controversy. He has his little cheerleaders rooting for him too. Time will tell.
