This has been tried before

Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), chairman of the Immigration Reform Caucus in the US House of Representative, declared in a press statement that he introduced a bill that would penalize states which refuse to require proof of US citizenship before someone is allowed to vote in federal elections.

Under the Voter Integrity Protection Act (VIP Act), states would need to see a valid photo ID proving US Citizenship for voting or those states would have their federal highway funding cut by as much as 40 percent, according to the Tancredo statement.

“In some parts of our country, all residents are granted a de facto right to vote, regardless of whether or not they are citizens. Such widespread voter fraud blurs the line between residency and citizenship and it reinforces the message that you don’t need to be an American to have every right and privilege of American citizenship. If even non-citizens can vote, what value does American citizenship have anymore?” said Tancredo.

“Illegal votes undermine our democracy. The VIP Act would help preserve the integrity of our democratic system, which is one of the most important responsibilities we have in Congress,” he added.

But this time the critics wont have many outs

The bill also provides funding to make free photo identifications available in order to avoid any challenges based on the 24th Amendment’s prohibition of poll taxes, which would take away the rationale for activist judges to overturn state laws requiring voter identification.

There are two sides to every conflict - unless you rely on the US media for
information about the battle in Lebanon. Viewers have been fed a diet of
partisan coverage which treats Israel as the good guys and their Hizbollah enemy
as the incarnation of evil. Andrew Gumbel reports from Los Angeles

I don’t know what news they are checking but it is not what is shown over here.

The media, more generally, has left little doubt in the minds of a majority of
American news consumers that the Israelis are the good guys, the aggrieved
victims, while Hizbollah is an incarnation of the same evil responsible for
bringing down the World Trade Centre, a heartless and faceless organisation
whose destruction is so important it can justify all the damage Israel is
inflicting on Lebanon and its civilians.

The Facts show that it is the moolsims of Hizbollah that started this and conflict and yes it does matter who started it!

The point is not that this viewpoint is necessarily wrong. The point - and
this is what distinguishes the US from every other Western country in its
attitude to the conflict - is that it is presented as a foregone conclusion. Not
only is there next to no debate, but debate itself is considered unnecessary and
suspect.

There is a lot of debate, we are debating how al-ruters has turned stupid and tried to manipulate what we think.

UK Radical mooslums want to be treated as special needs

Some of the 30 moderate Muslim leaders at the meeting told Miss Kelly that important days in their two main religious festivals - Ramadan and Eid-ul-Adha - should be made public holidays for followers of the faith.

Sharia law, which is practised in large parts of the Middle East, should also be introduced in Britain, they argued. While it specifies stonings and amputations as routine punishments for crimes, Dr Pasha said he wanted it only for family affairs.

How are your Tributes Coming?

Four weeks from today we’ll be posting our tributes. How is yours coming along?

By using the program Tom created, and the links Chez Diva has provided, I’ve gathered a good bit of information on Candace Lee Williams, but I haven’t written anything yet. I’ve been scouring the web for an email address for her mother, or her brother, in the hopes of getting some personal stories, or even just let to them know that a stranger is learning about, and will never forget, their daughter and sister.

The most overwhelming response I’ve received about 2,996 is that it is difficult. Not hard to do, but hard to handle. I’ve read at least 200 emails with anecdotes, thanks, or simple comments about all the emotions and memories that have been stirred up by this.

Part of me would like to say that wasn’t the reason I created this. And I suppose consciously it wasn’t the reason. But maybe my subconscious, like many of yours, was looking for a way to remember, to feel connected.

As easily as I tear up when I read about Candace I can tell I’m not over the pain, fear, anger and loss of 9/11.

Maybe I never will be.

Maybe I don’t want to be.

Maybe that’s a good thing.

Being a good Muslim, particularly a good male Muslim, is indeed a full time job. Male Muslims are obligated to go for Hajjh;women don’t have to do so. Islam is a man’s religion, through and through. Women are to please men erotically, to attend to them like chattel, and birth them boys. Going on Hajj and accumulating merit points for admission to Allah’s paradise is reserved for men. Women may also go to Hajj, if they are lucky enough to afford the journey or allowed by their owners, men, to
do so. For women, there are no promises that by going on Hajj and paying tribute to the house of Allah they endear themselves to him. “Women are calamities, but no home should be without one,” is an old Islamic characterization of women. Hence, a woman is a necessity and not much more.

I went and donated and think you should too. You might think, I don’t like what we have had and we need to change the lifetime appointment of the professional politicians. Like me you want a smaller government, less taxes, less spending, stronger border security, stronger national security, more personal responsibility.

For this I looked at other options and found the left is much worse on EVERY issue that matters to me. But Stand up GOP has not meet my expectations either. But the lesser of two evils is still the GOP. Now if we could just lock the vault and stop the spending….

Last month, National University of Lesotho scientists released the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer. Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption.

The theory is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain phytoestrogens and that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women.To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour period. It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects:

1) argued over nothing.
2) refused to apologize when obviously wrong.
3) Gained weight.
4) Talked excessively without making sense.
5) Became overly emotional.
6) Couldn’t drive.
7) Failed to think rationally
Ha d to sit down while urinating.

No further testing was considered necessary
