Central Avenue is closed at Virginia near downtown Phoenix due to a SWAT situation. A man was acting aggressively in traffic and Phoenix police responded to 911 calls.
Officers say the man is not responding to their commands and is believed to be carrying a pipe bomb.People have been evacuated from the immediate area but no large-scale evacuations are planned.
7th Avenue and 7th Street are suggested detour routes until the situation is resolved.
