I couldn’t vote for James Webb
I first Read James Webb Fields of Fire in 1990 while I was Active Duty. It made a pretty good impression on me in my early 20’s. I was going to get out in a couple months and go to School and use ROTC to come back in again with a commission. Well, things changed and I didn’t get out when I wanted to, and I didn’t go back in like I wanted to either. Mostly because Clinton was removing most options I had for for going back in. I was pissed off at Clinton in the early days of his presidency because of what his administration was dismantling.
Clinton told the Baltimore crowd that his party now has a chance to represent not just progressives but also sensible conservatives. “There’s something amazing going on here,” Clinton said. “This is not a usual election.”
I have a lot respect for James Webb but, I think he got to close to the game and got sucked in by the liberals. This statement also shows how the liberals think that they can represent both parties, while they insist that the Conservatives can not represent the Liberal side. I think the current congress and house are doing more for the liberal side than they do for the conservative side.
And incase you think the Washington Post is not biased
In Richmond, Allen may have gotten a bit more support from the president than he wanted; after Bush departed, Allen seemed to distance himself from some of Bush’s tough talk on Iraq.
As he and his wife, Susan, stood next to Bush in front of a huge U.S. flag, the president excoriated Democrats on national security and taxes. “They would have our country quit in Iraq before the job is done,” Bush said. “That’s why they are the party of cut and run. We will fight. We will stay. We will win in Iraq.”
Emphasis mine:
This is totally opinion and BS as the Post is trying to change reality.
