Hunting Anyone?

From one of my good friends:

One of nature’s truths is that deer are attractive animals.  The old stags are majestic, the does are cute, and the fawns are simply adorable.  Yet, each year states grant hunting licenses to people who are then empowered to trek out to the boonies and shoot them, and not for meat, necessarily.   Some hunters shoot deer as trophies.  And the reason for this is that deer populations, if left unchecked, grow out of control and the animals become risks to motorists, pests to farmers and forestlands.

Now consider the ever-increasing population of Muslims in this country.  Would hunting licenses be a solution to the Jihadi problem?   Granted, we would never hunt Jihadis for meat, and few of us would ever want to mount them on the wall of our study as trophies . . . but they do present problems that would seem to warrant a common sense solution.   Plus, unlike deer, Muslims could shoot back, which would be a more sporting proposition.

Besides, Muslims are not majestic, cute, or adorable.  But the real question is, do we have the moral courage to issue annual hunting licenses?

the question is would the ACLU want to sue me because I agree?

Put America back the way it was before the Republicans ruined it

The Democrats have decided to seek out help from people to set their agenda. Senator Dick Durbin has blogged and is seeking feedback on issues.

As we begin the new year, we herald the beginning of a new chapter in our nation’s history. In November, Americans from every corner of our country sent a message of change to Washington. America restored Democratic leadership to the House and Senate, and this change of leadership couldn’t come at a more critical time for our country.

Today, a new Democratic Congress is working to make America’s hopes for a better tomorrow a reality. Here in the Senate, much like Speaker Pelosi’s 100-hour plan in the House, our Democratic caucus has already unveiled an ambitious agenda to provide a new direction for America. But there is a lot of work to be done — so today I’m asking for your input.

Sounds fair enough huh?? This is democracy in action.

Some smart and intelligent people stood up to the plate here, to assist Mr. Durbin with ideas and suggestions:

We want you to treat the President the way you would if the Congress were the peoples architect, and the President the contractor, and this contractor then ripped up said architects plans and redesigned the work on the back of an envelope and failed to perform the work in a workmanlike manner, and had huge cost overuns and kickbacks…We expect he would be fired, sued, tried, imprisoned and forced to make restitution.

Get rid of the Patriot Act, the Warrantless Surveillance, all this talk about terrorism and al Qaeda, used to generate a war that trades blood for oil in Iraq and Somalia.

Put America back the way it was before the Republicans ruined it.

And this brilliant tidbit:

Immigration is a faux problem made up by Republicans to win elections. We spend more on our military than every other country in the world combined. It doesn’t need to be rebuilt, it needs to be audited.

People want to make sure certain regions of the country are not ignored:

And I’d really like a program developed whereby the Gulf Coast becomes a magnet region for not only the rebuild that should be much better managed so that small business people and not just big corporations get government help, but also utilizes renewable energy sources as part of the new infrastructure we have to build anyway - it could make the Gulf Coast our gold coast in less than a decade.

Others are concerned with health care:

The problem isn’t in the Bankruptcy bill (which was an abomination), but in a medical system that bankrupts those who need it most. Give us decent health coverage. Assist those wiped out by disasters. Fixing the bankruptcy ill to help people who can’t afford their medical care, or those hit by natural disasters — that’s putting a band-aid on a huge, gaping wound.

And of course, the environment:

Yes, I’m furious about the loss of our Democracy, but in the long run if we don’t act fast on global warming we are all dead as a species. America produces 25% of CO2. Per the BBC the Stern Report (sorry no linky pls google it) estimates a worldwide economic hit alone of 20% if we dont act fast. European nations are considering carbontaxing non compliers like us and China.

Had enough yet? The ideas and suggestions left in the comments section of blogs like Daily Kos, remind me of elementary school.
Lots of whining, complaining, endless chatter and buzzing, off topic conversations and little focus…in other words, a leader-less place like Daily Kos seems to attract those who are incapable of leading this country. These KosKids can be excused for their utter blindness to the threats of the world; their age and inexperience dooms them to be typical liberal minded youths.

Mr. Durbin, and his co-horts in the Senate, the Democrats, don’t act much older or more mature than the KosKids. They have proven, over time, that they have never grown up from their own days of youth and inexperience. As of this writing, there are over 700 comments in response to Mr. Durbin’s appeal. NOT A ONE OF THEM offers any solution. VERY FEW OF THEM make sense.
And they’re all extremely anti-America.

Just like all Democrats.

Reading Daily Kos is like being in a sweltering hot room full of fleas and flies that are constantly buzzing and biting. It saddens me to know these are Americans; it scares me to know these are our future leaders (perhaps). I really hope they grow up and soon. But I fear they won’t with idols like Mr. Durbin and John Kerry and Howard Dean and Billary Clinton- role models to these brats. Somehow, the liberal establishment has succeeded in creating another generation of totally misfit people.

Big Dog has a post about this too!! And some wizardly wisdom as well!!

And Kender has a couple points to make to about this Kos Kindergarten bulloney…

Let Them Claim Away OUR Benefits? NO.

Yesterday I noted an article in the Washington Times about how President Bush, Congress and the government of Mexico had made plans to give away a huge percentage of American earned Social Security benefits to illegal immigrants. It pissed me off to no end. It should piss everyone off. Today, the WATIMES has an excellent editorial about this:

On its way to bankruptcy, Social Security will get there a bit sooner if President Bush, Republican senators (and prospective presidential candidates) John McCain, Chuck Hagel and Sam Brownback and the overwhelming majority of Democratic senators get their way.

McCaint (and that’s not a misspell), Hagel and Brownback deserve to be impeached for this. At the very least they should be fired…and each of these men wants to be the next person to occupy the White House.

As Stephen Dinan reported in The Washington Times yesterday, the Bush administration has reached an agreement with Mexico that would permit illegal aliens, after they are granted amnesty in the future, to claim Social Security benefits for the work they performed while in the United States illegally, even if the illegal aliens committed felonies by using fraudulent Social Security documents to obtain their jobs.

What this intended to do was allow future immigrants (who will have been granted amnesty it is assumed) to draw benefits from the pool of funds they did not pay into, but WE did. So when we’re old, we lose out by about 15% or so…FUCK this bulloney.

Using the Freedom of Information Act, the TREA Senior Citizens League, a Social Security advocacy group, recently obtained a document detailing the U.S.-Mexican deal, which was reached in 2004. The agreement has not yet become law. Nor should it.

And it best NOT become law. We can take some action now. Call. Write. Put to shame those who would allow this travesty to happen.

During the Senate debate on immigration reform in May, Mr. Ensign proposed that no illegal alien whose status would be adjusted by the Senate bill be permitted to receive Social Security benefits as a result of unlawful activity. “There was a felony they were committing, and now they can’t be prosecuted” under the terms of the Senate immigration bill, Mr. Ensign argued at the time. “That sounds like amnesty to me.” On top of amnesty for the felony, the bill would also grant them Social Security benefits, as would the deal negotiated by the Bush administration with Mexico.

BULL-FUCKING-SHIT. Mr. Ensign is right….and Bush and company are wrong. It’s only coming out NOW, all these little details of the deals that are part of the so called Comprehensive Immigration Act…

In addition to Messrs. McCain, Hagel and Brownback, other still-serving Republicans who opposed the Ensign amendment, which lost by a 50-49 vote, included Sens. Lindsey Graham, Richard Lugar, Mel Martinez, Arlen Specter, Ted Stevens and George Voinovich.

Are the nuts??? No…they’re pansy asses who cannot stand up to the business lobby, who support the work of illegals for their own profit. Who support the American worker losing not only jobs, but now our Social security, which is already in trouble. Perhaps this is a good reason to do away with it! If we all had our own private plans, the damn government wouldn’t be able to take our money and GIVE it away to those who don’t earn it!

And I’m not apologizing for my language here. I get so pissed off at this shit I can’t stand it…and when I’m this mad, I have little control of my mouth.

First Marine Aviator

Back on 20 August 1912 Marine Aviation was born in Massachusetts. The site was in a bay by a Curtis Airplane Company factory in Marblehead when Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Austell Cunningham took a couple 40 minute solo flights.

Today, the “birthplace of Marine aviation,” as the park has been designated by the US government, is maintained year-round in immaculate condition through the efforts of a former Marine and a few volunteers who donate time and money to their labor of love.

Today the Boston Globe (As Raven pointed out to me), has an article of another Marine making sure this event is remembered. There is a park that he adopted and with a few friends this park has been maintained immaculately for years. as Marine Don Humphreys, (now 83) requests some help from other people in the area to help maintain the park and maintain the history of raising and lowering the flag each day.

I really like this guy…

For Humphreys, the park is an affirmation of his 65-year-old bond with the Marine Corps.

“I guess I’m a patriot, and maybe before being a patriot, I’m a Marine,” Humphreys said.

Hey Tim, what are you doing next weekend? Go help a little will ya?

Care to give us your thoughts on that?

DC has decided to be more open and forthcoming…today we witnessed his first press conference:

Candy Crowley, CNN: I suppose you were heartened by the brutal execution of Saddam Hussein. Care to give us your thoughts on that?

DC: Be happy to. It’s hard to have sympathy for Saddam, certainly, and he did deserve to die for his crimes. But the conduct of his execution, and the apparent chanting of “Moqtada” by his executioners does give one pause. For me, though, I was struck by the fact that his execution actually indicates progress for Iraq and the Muslim world. He got a trial and an appeal, and his head wasn’t cut off. Maybe next, the sectarian taunts will disappear. Who knows? Events like the execution of Saddam are a stark reminder that Western civilization is worth defending.

Also, I find it interesting how CNN and the rest of the MSM are disturbed that the execution was filmed, but they are not likewise concerned with showing video of enemy snipers shooting at our troops.

Finally, I understand that the video of the execution does not offend the sensibilities of the Iraqis or Muslims at large (even though holding the execution on a Sunni holiday did). It’s a good thing he wasn’t hung in his underwear. Then there would be hell to pay.

Candy Crowley: (Gasp)

LOL!! Go read it all…and keep your Jack closed.

Illegals Entitled to SS Benefits: Ours, Not Theirs

What in fuck is this shit???

An agreement the Bush administration reached with Mexico on Social Security benefits would allow illegal aliens granted amnesty in the future to claim credit for the time they worked illegally.

An agreement? With Mexico?? ’splain this to me someone…

The deal was reached in 2004 but never released publicly because it hasn’t been submitted to Congress. The TREA Senior Citizens League, a Social Security advocacy group, recently obtained the document through a Freedom of Information Act, and said it confirms the group’s worst fears.

Uh huh…

“To get Social Security benefits, you do have to be legally in the United States. This agreement does not address in any way immigration, immigration laws or override current law,” he said, adding that a 2004 law, the Social Security Protection Act, prevents illegal aliens from getting benefits.

But the seniors group said the 2004 law also states that if those aliens later get legal status — through an amnesty or some sort of legalization plan such as the one President Bush and the Senate tried to enact last year — they would be able to collect the benefits based on their time as illegal workers.

In other words, the wetbacks who are here now, stealing jobs Americans were doing, jobs Americans WILL do, are getting paid under the table and not paying into our SS system…BUT they will receive SS benefits when they retire- at which time we will have granted them all amnesty.

O.M.G. This is insane. Totally. Is this why we work now? To pay for the future and retirement of those who are criminals, those whose very presence here is illegal?? Give me a fucking break. The US is going to hell faster than a kettle of Mexican shit.

Trapped by heavy snow and high drifts

So is this where Michael has been lately??

LAMAR, Colo. — Ranchers, pilots and snowmobilers on Wednesday searched for thousands of cattle trapped by heavy snow and high drifts in southeastern Colorado, while hundreds of cows were reported dead in Kansas.

Eight National Guard helicopters and a C-130 cargo plane were dispatched in the campaign to save the livestock herds snowed in by back-to-back holiday blizzards. Volunteer snowmobile search-and-rescue groups from elsewhere in the state joined the effort on the ground.

Sounds like a MESS out there. A fun mess, with the snowmobiles though.
