Death to ‘America’: Comic-book hero killed off
If this doesn’t have a liberal slant to it I don’t know what does
NEW YORK - Captain America has undertaken his last mission — at least for now. The venerable superhero is killed in the issue of his namesake comic that hit stands Wednesday, the New York Daily News reported.
Why would a company kill the namesake of a comic character that was started in 1941?
It ends a long run for the stars-and-stripes-wearing character, created in 1941 to incarnate patriotic feeling during World War II. Over the years, an estimated 210 million copies of “Captain America” comic books, published by New York-based Marvel Entertainment Inc., have been sold in a total of 75 countries.
Is there a message in why?
Still, the character’s death came as a blow to co-creator Joe Simon.
“We really need him now,” said Simon, 93, who worked with artist Jack Kirby to devise Captain America as a foe for Adolf Hitler.
I am surprised by this move when there is no costs and only profit.

According to a report I saw on the TV news (CNN), it was publicly stated by Marvel Comics that Captain America’s death is a political message against the current President and the War in Iraq. How sad is that?

Oh, I forgot to add it is also a message against the Patriot Act.
Apparently, the story line goes like this…
CPT America is hunted down by our government for not registering his superpower abilities with the government database designed to keep tabs on everyone who is “different.”
I believe that story line was stolen from X-Men, but hey, whatever.

I don’t care if Marvel Comics is the owner, they’ve got it all wrong. The Registration Act was instituted by a Democratic Congress and signed by a Democratic President. After all, in spirit, this registration act obviously could only be the successor to an earlier Weapons Registration and Confiscation Act -and we know that it would be the Democrats, not Mr. Bush, who would pass and sign such legislation.
This purported connection of superheroes registration with the Patriot Act is a classic red herring…
On the other hand, this whole politicization of the comics is a crock to start out with. Why does everything have to be taken so seriously; why does everything have to be so significant! What ever happened to plain old fun…

Liberals and Captain America just don’t go hand in hand anymore. Democrats, NO, Lemoncrats, are losers. Captain America was a winner. Lemoncrats want too see America defeated. Captain America did not.
Where have all the Captains gone anyway??
