Here are Your Thoughts on How to Stop the NRA

We could only post a fraction of the overwhelming responses we received, and we listed the submissions by first name only. We also had to edit some of the responses due to length. We hope this begins a dialogue as we work towards solutions to America’s gun violence problem.

This is to make it look like more people responded that really did.

The NRA operates by imposing fear, intimidation, and ridicule on those who disagree with them. Stopping the NRA will require unmasking their tactics through peaceful demonstrations. When enough people march peacefully, picketing NRA headquarters, handgun manufacturers, and compliant politicians, public perception may change.

I guess when you are a timid dumb fuck you are scared of everything… I would like to see what you call imposing fear, intimidation and ridicule…wait, I just ridiculed your pansy-waist ass. forget that part, show me the fear and intimidation please.

We let the gun lobby determine the debate. A massive public relations campaign that gets average citizens demanding that government get guns away from children and criminals would change the discussion. When everyone is demanding a solution, organizations can begin to provide the specifics of what works.

One way to start to turn the tide on the gun lobby will be to tell the stories of the victims of gun violence. We need to show people who have lost loved ones to assault weapons, unlicensed weapons, guns bought from criminal gun dealers who have had violations but still sell guns.

As a social scientist, I think what’s needed is more and better data. One of the NRA arguments is that people need guns for “protection.” What’s the evidence that this ever works? If you have a gun on your person or in your car how are you safer in a dark parking lot late at night? How many intruders or muggers are scared off or shot by the self-sufficient gun-toting citizen? How many people are accidentally shot every year by guns kept by someone for “protection”? Data, data, data.

So, are you smarter than the rest of us? is that why you do read the data on states that have concealed carry laws? the data shows that when people use the right to arm themselves all crime drops.

The NRA should be banned as a terrorist organization. They have contributed to more deaths in the United States than any other terrorist group.

time for me to buy a new gun this week….just in case the Dhimminocrats take the white house and try to take our freedoms.
