Why I love Colorado

 A photo journal

Friends from Placerville VA (Millie & Dozer) Dozer trying to be short, but he really is short! No need to play

Looking West at the range from Trail Ridge Road.

Looking South from Trail Ridge Road

In one of the many meadows in Rocky Mountain National Park, see the velvet on the antlers, they will be good and strong this next fall in the rut.

Looks like a 2 year old bull and a one year old bull

A cow looking at us….

Then I see why, this Calf didn’t move more than the ears with the strange people around.

Across a shallow stream (with a zoom lens) this bull Moose ate quietly.

The herd in RMNP gets to be about 1000 and we could see over 400.

Sunday Morning across from my cabin in Grand Lake.

This beast was at least 1200 pounds…

    Dear Michael,
I can almost taste the mooseburgers with a bit of pepper jack cheese (and yes, I’ve eaten just that before… delicious!).

I also note that you seem to be measuring up some of those deer…. hmmm, plan on doing some good eating later this year? LOL

I see that you still have the “Fight On!” ribbon on your blog - good for you, you might also want to note a new effort An Army of Bloggers - Fighting Cancer! at http://anarmyofbloggers.blogspot.com.

At any rate, thanks for the photos, the photos of the mountains and snow are stupendous.
