The will to write

Family support has kept me away from this site for awhile.  Now I am trying to build the will to write again. I changed my site because I want to focus on the things that mater and not so much on politics. I want to be able to find a nice Colorado girl and be able to let her see what I write…who knows I hear there are a few Colorado girls out there.

The snow is coming down  again and there is 18 inches in Grand Lake. I need to get back up there. I hope my Mom will want to go without Gary….

It is cold as hell now, Yesterday I cleaned my dads Ruger 22 rifle with him in the barn. We sat under the heater so he could smoke while I cleaned and repaired the rifle and talked about playing gun golf a couple years ago with some friends in the pastures (now future home sites). We talked about bro-in law and nephew always emptying the clips and leaving them that way…..damn kids.

We talked about rebuilding the 1941 John Deer tractor that his father bought used in the 50’s. He used to have to ride it in the fields of southeast Nebraska as a kid. I will get it running and make sure his grandson gets it.

I need to think about a speech I will give in the coming days or weeks.  Maybe I can work it out here before the time comes….

I am going to try to work some posts daily…stay warm…

The will to write? I know how you feel…been there a lot recently and I am still trying to find it. I will say this: It’s hard to change the focus. Politics offers so many opportunities for fodder, LOL…there is ALWAYS something to write about. The problem, for me, was the negative feedback AND that led to boredom. Which killed my interest. Dead. I haven’t been able to re-capture that interest, the fire died out and I don’t see the ambers burning anymore.

I began to write some stuff about my life- things I remember from when I was a kid…family traditions and all that. My brother could give me endless hours of entertainment for blog fodder (lol). It’s difficult to decide how up close and personal to get in a blog…a lot can be put out there and we question it’s impact. When I first got into this I promised my family I would not post too much about THEM; absolutely no pictures of the girls, their friends, our home…I’ve broken a couple promises with personal info but it was all pretty generic so it was ok…My kids don’t get into FaceBook and MySpace and they value their privacy a lot. As do I…so it’s hard to write about family stuff.

So I look at my other interests: Food (cooking, recipes); ocean liners; modern culture, crazy work stuff (like the other day); nursing/medical stuff; pro life things; nursing homes, old people’s rights and younger people’s disrespect of that…I’m still trying to find a focus. I need to come up with some sort of schedule and outline for posting and for posts. I’m working on that. And reaching out…linking to others. THAT’S been very hard because I avoid the politics at all costs. I’m only just beginning to find (so many) blogs that don’ focus on that. It’s like old habits being hard to break…I find it very odd to be reading non political sites now. Just trying to find a blog roll to join has been difficult! (Maybe I should start my own…reformed political bloggers association LOL!!) I feel like a lost blog soul right now.

You were smart to not focus almost exclusively on politics here. I remember reading all sorts of cool things here: Quotes, little posts about family (red head sister?); dating newsletters (way back..); I remember one post you did on a Valentines Day- you linked to some nasty ASS picture for all the lady readers (that was funny as hell); some really GREAT stuff about your Grandmah and life; you used to post a lot about Marines and supporting them and that was always excellent (THUD)…guns and weapons and military vehicles; also stuff about leadership. And, you used to link to other sites when you found funny and interesting things. So I think you have a lot of things you could write about when times allows.

You could try to get some thoughts down here about your family situation- supporting them and how hard it must be. Things that matter? How about growing up? Who influenced you the most? <—Times with your Dad. A living history type of thing. You might find things to speak about if you go back to the days when you were young and dumb. LOL. God knows I sometimes go back and amaze myself at what I recall, as related to who I am now. And some of those times weren’t pretty or rosy. Good and bad, it’s helpful to remember them and put some perspective on them.

What about your time with the Marines? Surely you have some stuff there worthy of sharing.
Flying. Of course you know a lot about that and it would be something to write about now and again.
You’re a leader, not a follower. Tell us why.
What’s your motto in life? What words do you live by? ‘plain it to us.
You excel in many areas. Share your know how with those who might be interested.
Brag about your accomplishments. And laugh at your failures- write about it. Humans are not perfect. Hehe!!

There’s a few ideas. I think if you want to change focus, and can devote some time to it here at FP, you can do so successfully.
I also think that which you are looking for, will find you when you’re ready to be found. You have a lot on your plate right now and please remember that you have friends who care, who worry, who pray- and who are here for you.

I think the girl you’re looking for may be buried under all that snow!

Meanwhile, it was 80 degrees here yesterday and will be 80 today. And I’m not even in Florida!

True, politics will burn you out. It’s very difficult to stay in politics all the time. That’s why I try and spend each afternoon with some silly stuff. And the llamas help, too. :)

I am going to follow both of your leads on this and keep it light and not to personal. I will start back up and I think I have to do something in politics as it is comming into election year.

This new theme lightens it up a little and I am going to take some pictures of Grand Lake and flying, and Sgt Pepper, and of Ravens b( . )( . )bs and maybe that will increase traffic. nahh I woudl keep the pictures to my self….

    But did I tell ya’all I likea good set of b( . )( . )bs?
Raven, when are you comming out to Colorado now? with that sled?

Heh. That’s something I’m really trying to get a LOT more in on my blog — especially for my afternoons — pictures. I need to take more so I can post more. Maybe I’ll just gradually change over to an all-photo blog.

Ogre shut up about those temps OK? I don’t want to hear THAT.

I want to hear that it’s snowing and 10 degrees outside.

And what is the fetish with llamas anyway??

    LOL

Ogre’s going to do boob shots at his site.

    Hmm….Man boobs eh??
    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pictures are cool. I use them a lot- and post lots of my own or my friends.
The pictures often don’t need any commentary either. On my travels I get pictures all the time, like the past couple days being up in Maine. Ogre there was snow on the beaches did you see those shots?? I posted some of that and the stormy ocean. LOL And my Greece trip- shared a very few of those. Pictures help with posts.

I also use pictures and images in posts that are not personal. Just to add something extra…

Michael you could do some tottie shots once a week or whatever…
    heh.

    http://www.theospark.blogspot.com/
You can get pics of hotties from here..SONSFW

    Or here, NSFW…http://www.dailypoa.com/

    And here..again NSFW: http://dailytotty.blogspot.com/

Many guys post boobposts very successfully and when they are classy about it, it works. When they are not classy it’s just gross and your site will falter for it. LOL

Do what Teach does. hehe…traffic bait posts…about celeb ladies who are found nekkid or who might pose for Playboy- he does that every so often just to watch his hits go up (among other things). BWAHAH

Raven, you have a very nice couple of pictures. I loke them. I am glad you don’t mind to share glimpses once in a while……

Ah huh…well I have some really RISKAY shots that no one gets to view…not even YOU! And I doubt I will ever pose for a set like these evah again so…this is it. I don’t do good pictures..I look awful in almost all of the regular non made up, pasted up, teased haired up, pictures of me. Since I don’t care what I look like, it really shows in most of my shots.
