Elk Hunting

Elk Hunting is hard work and the experience is well worth it.

here are some pictures from this last week

Trying to be an extreme hunter I packed everything I would need for my hunting trip to stay on the mountain. After 3 nights I figured I would relax in the comfort of a cabin.

Here are some pictures of the devastation of the beetle kill in Grand County. It really is a bad sight

This is from the mountain above Bowen Lake on Bowen Gulch at about 11,600 ft above sea level.

And the Ice age is coming back soon. (even with global warming in the news). This snow pack was hard as ICE and was not from any snow this season.

Looking back at Blue Ridge after I walked this whole distance.  It seemed longer than it looks now. my legs are still sore after this day of hiking.  And this whole time I didn’t see a single Elk that I could get close to with a Bow.

These are great pictures!! I just love them mountain shots…esp the second one w/the fog…funny I heard that song “Rocky Mnt High” today and then I get home from work to see these photos…

What beautiful country you live in Michael. For real! Those are real mountains and I envy you; and the lakes are awesome as well. Is that where your cabin is??

Hehe…global warming is alive and well and melting away there- why is that ice sheet there anyway? Questions, questions…

Oh and did you fit in that tent??
