Oboma and Fannie Mae

From an email”

Here is a quick look into 3 former Fannie Mae executives who
have brought down Wall Street.

Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at
Fannie Mae.  Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie
Mae  when auditing discovered severe irregulaties in Fannie Mae’s
accounting activities. At the time of his departure The Wall Street
Journal noted, ‘ Raines, who long defended the company’s accounting
despite mounting evidence that it wasn’t proper, issued a statement late
Tuesday conceding that ‘mistakes were made’ and saying he would assume
responsibility as he had earlier promised. News reports indicate the
company was under growing pressure from regulators to shake up its
management in the wake of findings that the company’s books ran afoul of
generally accepted accounting principles for four years.’  Fannie Mae
had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion..
Raines left with a ‘golden parachute valued at $240 Million in
benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the
accounting scandal became clear.
http://housingdoom.com/2006/12/18/fannie-charges/ . The Government
noted, ‘The 101 charges reveal how the individuals improperly
manipulated earnings to maximize their bonuses, while knowingly
neglecting accounting systems and internal controls, misapplying over
twenty accounting principles and misleading the regulator and the
public. The Notice explains how they submitted six years of misleading
and inaccurate accounting statements and inaccurate capital reports that
enabled them to grow Fannie Mae in an unsafe and unsound manner.’  These
charges were made in 2006.  The Court ordered Raines to return $50
Million Dollars he received in bonuses based on the miss-stated Fannie
Mae profits.

Tim Howard -  Was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae.
Howard ‘was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies
that would ensure a ’stable pattern of earnings’ at Fannie. In everyday
English - he was cooking the books.  The Government Investigation
determined that, ‘Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide
adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within Fannie
Mae.

On June 16, 2006, Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., asked the Justice
Department to investigate his allegations that two former Fannie Mae
executives lied to Congress in October 2004 when they denied
manipulating the mortgage-finance giant’s income statement to achieve
management pay bonuses. Investigations by federal regulators and the
company’s board of directors since concluded that management did
manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned
under pressure in late 2004.

Howard’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!
Jim Johnson -   A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who
was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO.   A look at the
Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight’s May 2006 report
<http://www.ofheo.gov/media/pdf/FNMSPECIALEXAM.PDF>  on mismanagement
and corruption inside Fannie Mae, and you’ll see some interesting things
about Johnson. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a
substantial amount of Johnson’s 1998 compensation from the public,
reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it
was $21 million.’   Johnson is currently under investigation for taking
illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.
Johnson’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic
Advisor

TIM HOWARD?  Howard is also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama
JIM JOHNSON?  Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was
selected to run Obama’s Vice Presidential Search Committee

IF OBAMA PLANS ON CLEANING UP THE MESS - HIS ADVISORS HAVE THE EXPERTISE
- THEY MADE THE MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Am I the only one to be infuriated?
Would you trust the men who tore Wall Street down to build the New Wall
Street ?

Amendment 59 is agreeing to MUCH higher taxes for the spend happy Liberal/Progressive/Socialist Governor.

The government wants to remove any say we as tax payers have in how much and how spending is done in the state of Colorado. Currently we have a law called the TABOR’s law that require Coloradoian to approve ALL increases in tax rates in Colorado and also any major spending changes of taxes collected.

Watch this and vote against Amendment 59. If you want more good information on this Amendment and also on 49 check out John Caldara’s blog

Never will I give money to my College again!

I have called and made sure the dean of my school knows how I will NEVER provide any support for the school for allowing this WAKO left wing activist teach any classes that try to brain wash the students.

DENVER (CBS4) ? Metro State College is investigating a professor who asked students to write an essay critical of Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. One student said the instructor singled out Republican students in the class and allowed others to ridicule them.
“I was shocked, I was holy cow, this is just an open door for him to discuss politics with us,” said Jana Barber, a student in the class.
Barber shared the first class assignment with CBS4. Instructor Andrew Hallam asked students to write an essay to contradict what he called the ‘fairy tale image of Palin’ presented at the Republican National Convention.
“What the faculty’s responsibility is to provide opportunity for critical thinking and civic engagement so bringing something of relevancy into the classroom was the faculty’s goal,” said Cathy Lucas, spokeswoman for Metro State. “Should he have broadened it and included all the political figures, yes.”
Metro State officials are investigating claims of bias, harassment and bullying.
Hallam declined an interview with CBS4. He has revised the assignment.
Students may now write about any of the candidates.

If you want to call here is the main number to voice your opinion.

Elk Hunting

Elk Hunting is hard work and the experience is well worth it.

here are some pictures from this last week

Trying to be an extreme hunter I packed everything I would need for my hunting trip to stay on the mountain. After 3 nights I figured I would relax in the comfort of a cabin.

Here are some views form the Colorado Mountains (near Winter Park/Mary Jane Ski park)

CoolPix 060

In Grand Lake area, The two little hills are call little chicken for snowmobiles. the mountain in the back ground is called supper chicken also known as gravel mountain.

Here are some pictures of the devastation of the beetle kill in Grand County. It really is a bad sight

CoolPix 065

This is from the mountain above Bowen Lake on Bowen Gulch at about 11,600 ft above sea level.

for the area see google maps

This was walking on Blue Ridge from Bowen Mountain south at 11,500 Ft.

And the Ice age is coming back soon. (even with global warming in the news). This snow pack was hard as ICE and was not from any snow this season.

Looking back at Blue Ridge after I walked this whole distance.  It seemed longer than it looks now. my legs are still sore after this day of hiking.  And this whole time I didn’t see a single Elk that I could get close to with a Bow.

‘Gitmo On The Platte’ Set As Holding Cell For DNC

I want to make sure people know who is doing this.

“The Looper” Denver DEMOCRAT mayor John Hickenlooper (D) set up a place to hide the people he is supposed to represent.

this is how Denver will look good on National TV by hiding all protesters because it should be against the law to protest or something.

DENVER (CBS4) ? CBS4 News has learned if mass arrests happen at the Democratic Convention, those taken into custody will be jailed in a warehouse owned by the City of Denver. Investigator Rick Sallinger discovered the location and managed to get inside for a look.
The newly created lockup is on the northeast side of Denver. Protesters have already given this place a name: “Gitmo on the Platte.”

Not that I would disagree with locking up the WAKO left (the includes the Mayor)

but the left is going to lock up the left for the TV cameras and to prove this Cow town is not a Cow town. Now these are people from California and other parts that want to make Denver a Big city instead of a cow town.

I like the cow town.

Elk Hunting Swedish Style

I bet they would rather do elk hunting Colorado style.

Motorcycle hit by flying elk

An unusual traffic accident occurred on the E18 highway between Årjäng and Töcksfors in western Sweden late Thursday night when a motorcycle collided with an airborne elk.

A man and a woman in their twenties were riding the motorcycle at the time, following a long-haul truck.
Suddenly an elk rushed out into the road and the truck driver slammed on the brakes.
The driver of the motorcycle swerved to avoid hitting the truck, only to then collide with the elk which came flying through the air after having been hit by the truck.
Both the man and the woman were taken to hospital with serious internal injuries and fractures.
There was no report on the condition of the elk.

Bi-Partisan Bull Shit

So after the Blue liberals talk about being professional and wanting to have dialog. they turn out the lights. What a bunch of childish limp wrist bitches….

House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House and turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosi’s refusal to schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American economy. They have refused to leave the floor after the adjournment motion passed at 11:23 a.m. and are busy bashing Pelosi and her fellow Democrats for leaving town for the August recess.

At one point, the lights went off in the House and the microphones were turned off in the chamber, meaning Republicans were talking in the dark. But as Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz..) was speaking, the lights went back on, and the microphones were turned on shortly afterward.

But C-SPAN, which has no control over the cameras in the chamber, has stopped broadcasting the House floor, meaning no one is witnessing this except the assembled Republicans, their aides, and one Democrat, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), who has now left.

Only about a half-dozen Republicans were on the floor when this began, but the crowd has grown to about 20 now, according to Patrick O’Connor.

The President should have Vetoed the pork bills

If the President had vetoed the spending bills with all the pork and special interests benefits only, he might not have lost his house and Senate to the Democrats.  Now he threatens to veto the crap his liberal house is pushing on the American people.

White House threatens to veto oil drilling legislation

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Thursday threatened to veto legislation being considered by the U.S. House of Representatives that would force oil companies to give up undrilled federal leases and ban the export of crude drilled in Alaska.

The question I have is why this matters more than keeping spending down does?

We all hate the radio station broadcast of the ‘Emergency Broadcast System’ because it is always in the middle of a good song like on the ride to work this morning.

Using this as start, create the funniest parody of it and add it to your site and leave a comment with a link to your parody.

This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. The broadcasters of your area in voluntary cooperation with the FCC and other federal, state and local authorities have developed this system to keep you informed in the event of an emergency.”

If this had been an actual emergency, the Attention Signal you just heard would have been followed by official information, news or instructions.”

This station serves the largest area possible. This concludes this test of the Emergency Broadcast System.”

I don’t know if the Driver was hurt in this but I bet so. this looks bad.

Having a RV storage lot I see a lot of people that can barley drive a car let alone tow a camper behind it.

The Current GOP must go!

I agree these Big spending liberal leaders in the GOP need to GO! their leadership has been lacking and it is time for some new blood to lead for America!

No Permanent GOP Minority
By Robert D. Novak
July 7, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. — When House Republican leaders left Washington for their Fourth of July break, they felt good about outwitting the Democratic majority. The feeling was not reciprocated 3,000 miles away, where conservative California Republican activists were drafting an ultimatum. The Lincoln Club of Orange County is telling GOP leaders of both the House and Senate that it is too late to repent. They must go — or else lose big money.

The message: "Come Nov. 5, should the current GOP leadership in either house survive to lead in a new Congress, the Lincoln Club of Orange County will review the financial backing of all congressional Republicans, and we urge others to do likewise. A GOP caucus that would re-elect such leaders is not one we would likely continue to support. Because, simply put, we refuse to support a permanent minority."

This is they key comment in the article

Unfortunately, say Republican reformers, it looked like the operation was a great success but the patient died.
