Unconventional Marines
These guys will be special.
So now we have to treat these Marines Special? Bull Shit, they are as special as the Army and Navy now (and the PJ’s kinda)! Special Gear, Special food, Special transportation, special covers?
The U.S. Marine Corps is developing a brand new special-operations force to serve as an element of the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Though unique, the force - officially “Marine SOCOM Detachment One” - will be the Corps’ participating equivalent of the Navy’s SEALs, the Army’s special-operations forces (Green Beret, Delta, and other special purpose forces), and the Air Force’s special operations units.
So Special Marines, How does it feel to be equivalent to the Navy’s Seals? Might as well roll the whole Marine Corps into the Army Now…
Back when I was Active in the Marines we had MEU (SOC) and we had Marines that were doing the same thing without the special treatment that our Navy counterparts received. Now I am not knocking the Seals or the Army (well maybe just a little) but I never understood the need they had for the special treatment.
I have had some snot nosed kids that are tough as hell Recon Marines disagree with me and I understand the desire to have the Special Operations Command association, maybe the real goal is for the Marines to take over the SOC as they will be the badest mo fo’s there…
In the end, I still don’t think it doesn’t benefit the US or the Marine Corps. My Navy buds will argue that it is really only bad for the SOC as the Marines will want to take over….
