I have one question for all of your 2 that visit here.

There are laws to prevent the shooting of innocent people, there are laws to prevent robbery, there are laws to prevent battery,

Take a close look at the Illinois legislature these days, and you’ll find the reason why several promising gun control bills have been defeated in the House this month.
In the last couple of weeks, House Republicans from the suburban Chicago area prevented three key bills from moving forward in Springfield. In particular, 16 House Republicans from the suburbs voted against legislation that would have mandated criminal background checks on handgun sales, HB 758, and prohibited the sale of no more than one handgun a month.
In addition, they also voted against another important measure. Currently, Illinois law states that parents are required to safely store firearms so that they are not accessible to children and teens under the age of 14. Another bill would raise that standard to the age of 18.
We need to be absolutely clear about what happened here. This is not a planned uprising among Republicans in favor of specific pieces of gun legislation. It is, rather, a damaging blow against what voters want - a blow largely caused by phone calls and emails delivered repeatedly by the NRA. During this legislative session, House Republicans from suburban Chicago have made decisions on the gun issue based on calls from a vocal and intimidating minority.

Emphasis added

What do these people think will be accomplished with additional laws will stop law abiding people from getting guns to protect themselves when people that don’t abide by the laws we have now will just ignore in the future?

I just donated another $100 to NRA to stop these ignorant people….you should too.

The federal government prosecution team is loosing the ability to intimidate and the use of threats and scare tactics is starting to fail in the last couple cases against Marines doing the jobs other (legal)Americans won’t do…

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (AP) - The Marine Corps dropped its case and gave full immunity Friday to a serviceman who was accused of involuntary manslaughter in a squad’s killing of 24 Iraqis in Haditha in 2005.

The case against Lance Cpl. Stephen Tatum, 26, of Edmond, Okla., was dropped as jury selection was about to begin for his court-martial. The government has been seeking Tatum’s testimony against the squad leader, Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich of Meriden, Conn.

In addition to two counts of involuntary manslaughter, Tatum had been charged with reckless endangerment and aggravated assault. Tatum’s attorney, Jack Zimmerman, said there was no agreement with the government before the dismissal.

“Absolutely, there is no deal,” he said.

Zimmerman said Tatum would testify if called as a witness in future trials but that he would testify as a neutral witness, not a government witness.

But that won’t diminish the will of the liberal press and their ability to pressure the military justice system to crucify American fighting men in battle with a ruthless enemy.

Four enlisted Marines were initially charged with murder and four officers were charged with failing to investigate the deaths. Over time the case has shrunk, including removal of all murder charges. Tatum was the third enlisted Marine to have all charges dismissed.Only two officers remain charged.

Even the leadership agreed that is was within the rules of engagement and this is really only because some jackass wants to show the world how evil America is and the liberal press is supporting them in this lie.

The highest-ranking defendant is Lt. Col. Jeffrey R. Chessani of Rangley, Colo., commander of the Camp Pendleton-based 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment at the time of the Nov. 19, 2005, Haditha killings. Chessani, accused of dereliction of duty and violation of a lawful order, has said he didn’t order a formal investigation because he believed the deaths resulted from lawful combat.

News/Islamic.Call.To.Prayer.Played.From.Clock.Tower-3287081.shtml">Muslims students at the University of Miami have organized for the Islamic call to prayer, broadcasted each Friday afternoon this month from Richter Library’s clock tower in commemoration of Islamic Awareness Month.

The call to prayer, or Adhan, is spoken in Arabic and is meant to resonate throughout the area.

“It serves as constant reminder of when we have to pray, because prayer itself is a reminder of our religion and how we practice it,” said Selima Jumarali, the vice president of the organization.

According to the teachings of Islam, Muslims are to pray five times a day. In Muslim-majority countries, the call is usually performed live by an individual and is heard before every prayer.

Do we have a Christian Awareness Month? Or a Jewish Awareness Month? How about a Buddism Awareness Month? No, of course not.

“It brings true variety to the university and open appreciation to diversity, especially in these times when people have misunderstandings of Muslims and who we are,” she said.

I don’t know about others, but everything I ever wanted to learn about Islam I learned on September 11 2001. That was enough for me. I’m really getting sick and tired of all the pandering to Muslims. I don’t want to have any more awareness of their religion, because it’s not peaceful.

Yes, but it’s also a significant increase for some of us who aren’t of the high income class people. Oh but wait…I forgot…she’s not about FAIR really. She’s about fair to her well defined idea of who is poor. The rest of us can cough up extra cash to cover these people. It used to be about shared risks. Now it’s about <del datetime="2008-03-28T11:31:26+00:00">shared</del> paid equal access. One only has to look at MA Health Care to see how this idea sounds good but doesn’t work. At all. The ten percent has already turned into twice that amount, and now businesses are going to be taxed and fined more as well….and they still can’t afford their own mandated health care for everyone.

A couple or three weeks ago I wrote here about NH bucking the Real ID law mandates. The law is stupid and a waste of money. More than half the states don’t and never will comply with standards- yet have gotten Uncle Sam’s blessing. Not NH- and three other states who openly defied the Federal government.

The showdown came to a head this past week and the feds blinked.

MANCHESTER – New Hampshire has won a skirmish in the battle against the RealID federal mandate.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security agreed yesterday to postpone imposing the requirements until Dec. 31, 2009.
[…]
New Hampshire won the extension by detailing existing security measures and new measures to be incorporated this year to driver’s licenses and identification cards.

It amounts to a compromise, one tailored after Montana’s argument that its state security measures were already tough enough. Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer held his ground, declaring the federal government could “go to hell.”

New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch is no less opposed to RealID, especially since state law prohibits New Hampshire from participating in the federal system.

I would have preferred Gov. Lynch tell the feds where to go, as Montana’s governor did. But Mr. Lynch is a gentleman.

Anyway NH will not change it’s law so the fed government will in effect, have to go to hell. If it means NH citizens “suffer” consequences, so be it. It’s better than being overly TREADED UPON as most the other states are allowing.

Ahh and Eliot’s exploits continue to be revealed.

Disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been identified as a long-standing client of a second high-priced call-girl ring, The Post has learned.

The ex-governor regularly patronized Wicked Models, the Manhattan-based operation taken down Tuesday, according to financial documents and other evidence unearthed in a yearlong prostitution in vestigation, law-enforcement sources said.

When will Mrs. Spitzer file for divorce? The sooner the better. She doesn’t deserve such a man.

The revelation comes three weeks after Spitzer was outed as “Client-9″ in a separate federal hooker probe involving the New Jersey-based Emperors Club VIP.

At the center of the new ring is Kristin “Billie” Davis, a busty bottle blonde who hails from a ough-and-tumble California trailer park. She has a reputation for hard-partying, shameless self-promotion and a rumored 10,000-name-long client list.

Davis’ alleged multimillion-dollar empire was smashed by city vice cops as she made plans to skip town. Prosecutors say she netted some $2 million last year by pimping out ladies of the night for as much as $1,000 an hour through four Web sites.

10,000 clients? She was a busy gal. Sex sells. And if you’re a desperate enough man, you can buy it for this kind of money. Course the classy guys only want the best whores they can afford.

I really feel bad for Spitzer’s teenage daughters. To know their father is a low life scum who does these things must be very embarrassing, and he has let them down in a huge way. This is one of those things daughters have trouble forgiving. They’ll certainly never forget the pain and anguish this has caused their Mother.

When I was in 5th grade my class did a project about racism. We learned all about the personalities of those who brought forth this issue in American history, and how they came to be who they were. And, what happened to them throughout their lives. Dr. King and others were subjects of study.

Once upon a time there was another Reverend Wright, who stood up for racial justice. With the modern day Rev. Wright, of Obama fame, I see a very different but similar series of events taking place. Racism could end in America, if only those who chose to use it as an excuse for their shortcomings would stop doing so.

Once upon a time, America’s soul was stirred by a brilliant man whose words provoked a national conversation about race, a black man who firmly believed in so-called “social justice”, a man of consequence whose struggles and achievements formed the backdrop of a quintessentially American story.

Who was this man? Not Barack Obama, but the late Richard Wright.

Wright, the author of the iconic 1940 novel Native Son, bore witness to the horrors of the pre-civil-rights South; the anti-black violence of his Mississippi childhood left emotional scars that took decades to heal. Like Obama, Wright settled in Chicago as a young adult and began a long march to national fame; by the mid-1940s, Wright became the most famous African-American author in the United States, a man hailed worldwide for his vivid depictions of racial injustice.

Like Obama, Wright aligned himself with a politically radical entity–in Wright’s case, the American Communist Party. Wright spent years
writing for Communist publications and defending the party’s doctrines. His commitment to Communism was not just professional, but personal; in 1941, shortly after a failed first marriage, he wed Ellen Poplar, a New York Communist Party organizer.

Yet, unlike Obama, Wright gradually opened his eyes to the deep flaws of the radical group he had joined. Wright realized that despite the party’s proclamations of colorblindness, an inflexible racial caste system existed in the organization. He was denounced when he tried to question the party’s orthodoxy, and was rebuked when he raised questions about the treatment of those living in the Soviet Union. Slowly but surely, Wright realized that Communism was oppression disguised as freedom; by the late-1940s, he had severed his ties to the Communist Party.

Wright remained a liberal until the end of his life, but he understood that Communism was poisonous, corrosive, dangerous to the ideals of freedom upon which his vision of liberalism stood. He was loathed by former Communist colleagues for his apostasy, but he never apologized for seeing the truth behind Communism’s lie.

Obama and Hillary and their supporters are seeking a form of communism for America. They’re using examples of social injustice as reasons for this. Do we ever learn from our history? Do liberals even know of it? I don’t think so. Why does a conservative author such as D.R. Tucker write and remind some of us about the other Rev. Wright? Why the silence from those on the left? Do they not want this history recalled and it’s lesson’s re-taught? I think so.

Top this for a speeding ticket

Two California Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on I-15, just north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar California . One of the officers was using a handheld radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the crest of a hill.

The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour. The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then turned off.

Just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet, which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location.

Back at the CHP Headquarters the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the USMC Base Commander. The reply came back in true USMC style:

Thank you for your letter. We can now complete the file on this incident.

You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it, which is why it shut down.

Furthermore, an Air-to-Ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment location.

Fortunately, the Marine Pilot flying the Hornet recognized the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status and was able to override the automated defense system before the missile was launched to destroy the hostile radar position.
The pilot also suggests you cover your mouths when cussing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech. Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left rear molar. It appears the filling is loose. Also, the snap is broken on his holster.

Thank you for your concern. Semper Fi.
